This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through my website www.hennypennymakes.co.uk which is powered by Shopify.


How I collect and use your personal information

When buying from or contacting HennyPennyMakes, you will give me some or all of the following personal details: your name, postal address, email address, a username if you use social media to contact me and your phone number. 

When you order, the personal information collected is used purely for completing your transaction, including processing, communicating with you and sending your order. I will not disclose any of your personal information without your permission unless I am required to do so by law. 

When you order through my website, your information will be shared with Shopify as they power our website, and you will pay through Shopify Shop Pay or PayPal on the website and through SumUp at yarn festivals. I do not store any bank details or payment information. This is all dealt with securely by Shopify Shop Pay, Paypal or SumUp. My privacy policy does not apply to these third parties and so you should reference their privacy policies at:

How I process your details

I use your information to process and fulfil orders placed through the website or to respond to the email or social media enquiries you have made when contacting me.  I do not use your information for anything else outwith the circumstances detailed here in this privacy policy.

Third party processors (PayPal, Shopify and SumUp) retain your information for a period of time to fulfil legal obligations. I do not have control over those third-party processors, and I do not keep or maintain copies of that information.

 

Data retention

All personal details provided by you to me are kept in a secure, password protected format and accessed through password protected electronics (mobile phone, computer, tablet etc). Paperwork is kept to a minimum and is kept in a secure place. In order to also comply with HMRC's tax regulations in the United Kingdom, I will store your order details for 7 years.


Email marketing

When you sign up for email marketing through our website, you will provide us with your email address and consent to receiving the marketing. Email marketing is only used by me to send occasional information to subscribers and you have the right to unsubscribe/opt out of marketing at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our marketing emails.


Your rights

  • You have the right to have inaccurate personal data rectified
  • in some scenarios you also have the right to ask for your information be deleted
  • in relation to direct marketing, you have the right to object to your personal data being used

When we amend this Privacy Policy we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We recommend that our users periodically review our Privacy Policy to ensure that they are notified of any updates.
